Just did a final check of my 1040/540 #TaxReturns & printed them out for final prep & mailing with the required checks via Priority Mail on Wed 04/15/2026.

The 1040 is 14 pages long & the 540 is 24 pages long; 38 pages long including the 1040 that has to be filed with it. 🤦‍♂️

I've been using #TurboTax to prep my returns since it 1st became available in the early 80's.

It would be a tiresome & frustrating task to fill out & print the returns w/o it &, while I dislike paying for it each year, it costs far less & takes far less time for me prep my returns using it, than if I hired an accountant to do it for me. 🤷‍♂️

After I retired last year, I joined a social‑support program. Once a week, I talk with a woman who works as a waitress in Appalachia. She told me she’s expecting a $300 tax refund — but she’s facing a problem.

She also worked as a driver for Grubhub and Uber, which means she has legitimate business expenses (gas, insurance, etc.). But when she tries to enter those expenses, TurboTax tells her she must upgrade for $150. That upgrade would wipe out half of her refund.
