And we have liftoff! Went and got an extension cord and a shower curtain bar so I could hang the light further back in the closet, and I think it’s also sturdier than the kind of janky closet rod that’s already in there.

The light is super bright btw, but the blackout curtain does a stellar job of keeping it contained. I might just stick a few pieces of velcro or whatever on the sides to make extra-sure there’s no leakage.

Got my lights all set up! I might have to adjust this later bc there’s a lot of wasted space near the back of the closet due to where the closet rod is installed, but hardware for that should be pretty cheap and easy to install.

I got some pots, soil, a blackout curtain, and various pieces of infrastructure for the grow room and it’s looking nice so far. Still need to get lights, and I’m also still waiting for my seeds to ship, but we are GETTING SOMEWHERE

It gets really dark in this closet with the curtain closed so that looks good. For ventilation I’m planning on just using a small fan, and there’s a closet rod that looks like a good place to hang the lighting.
