Recording of the keynote by Jason Evans (Open Data Manager and former National Wikimedian, National Library of Wales):

„Making Wikimedia and Linked Open Data Mainstream in GLAMs – The National Library of Wales Journey“

During the #WikiKult network meeting 11-12 June in Berlin. Interesting insights into community work with Wikimedia platforms, developing interfaces for collection data on Wikidata, and SPARQL-queries in chatbots.

Hello #DH #GLAM people. My colleague and I are investigating a simple static content discoverability layer akin to https://github.com/DARIAH-ERIC/dariah-campus. We want something simple that can list resources and outputs, be added to and is easy to search. Any ideas for useful tech?

Vale Carl Wilson, Digital Preservation’s Indie Rockstar

by @beet_keeper

Just a quick note wishing Carl peace wherever he is now and to send my best wishes to Becky and his family, and of course his colleagues at the OPF and everyone else who worked closely with him.

Can I remember where I first met Carl? He’s just always been around hasn’t he?

I suspect it was the AQuA hack-a-thon at the British Library in 2011. Carl was maybe working on an image duplication

Irish museums hold artefacts from around the world. Should they give them back?

The State is both victim and perpetrator when it comes to cultural artefacts. Until now, there was no policy on how to deal with it

FAQ: it's very suited to a strong engineer early in their career.

The outgoing RSE had opportunities to mentor a junior data scientist, to collaborate closely with specialists and develop their skills leading self-contained projects - it's a good fit for someone who wants to grow in the role #RSE #GLAM
