After buying #GingerShots from the supermarket for a year or so I made some on my own earlier this week. And guess what: it's super easy, much cheaper and tastes way better (probably also more healthy).

My recipe is simple: 200g fresh ginger in larger pieces, 300ml cold orange juice, 100ml cold water, juice of 2 fresh lemons, 2 table spoons of honey. Blend well. Press through a strainer directly into a bottle. Keep in the fridge and enjoy more than a week of awesome ginger shots. #homemade

Mixed a new batch of #gingershots today, and I'm slowly learning that ginger can be varied as chilis in some ways. While my previous batch was smooth, with a certain sweetness, yet with some kick, this time it is almost too pungent, with an uneven aftertaste. The colour varies a bit too. This time it seems a darker yellow, with a slight greyish tint in stark contrast to the bright yellow from previous. Maybe the ginger I used this time was stored longer, ie not as fresh? More research is needed.

I have now perfected my recipe for #gingershots

250 grams peeled ginger
1 tbs turmeric powder
7.5 dl fresh apple juice (not too sweet)
Juice of 1 lime (to taste)
Water (to taste)

Blend the peeled ginger, with the apple juice and turmeric. Press the pulp through a fine mesh sieve. Throw away the pulp. Add lime and water to taste. Refrigerate and enjoy one shot every morning for a healthy boost. Keeps in refrigator at least ten days.
