Óli Gneisti (English)Yesterday I saw the German film Sterben (or Dying) at the cinema. It is a magnificent film. Likely the best of 2024 (it doesn't seemed to have been released in the US yet so, no Oscar nomination).
It is about family, friendship, love, art and death. The runtime is three hours long but it doesn't feel long.
The most surprising part was how funny the film was. Though sometimes it felt as if I was the only one who felt that way. There is a bit of Ingmar Bergman here, comparable to his best, but of course people often miss the jokes in his films as well.
