@gruber @danilo

So that means #ScienceTwitter, #MathTwitter, #MedTwitter, #GeoTwitter, etc. will all prefer Mastodon, right?

@cobalt I'll be trying to keep up the #ThinSectionThursday trend here, and be less of a lurker than I was on #geotwitter. Future posts will hopefully be better quality (not taken with my phone!)
In preparation for not using the bird site, I just downloaded my #readinglist of 26 papers that I had bookmarked 🧐 Add that to the 50 tabs of other papers to read... How does anyone keep on top of new #geology #publications 😱 ? That said, I hope #geotwitter will be sharing new papers here as well!
Is there a #geotwitter equivalent here? For example, is it #geomastodon I wonder?
Gonna give things a try on fediscience.org for a bit. I'll check both this and the mastodon.social instance, but things seem to be a little more science-y over here! #geoscience #geotwitter
@clblanchet No idea! I wondered about using #GeoTwitter for now, but will add #geoscience to my profile...👍

#introduction hello! I'm Sarah, a 'hard rock' geologist from Smith College, a small liberal arts college in Massachusetts. I teach undergraduate level mineralogy and petrology, and currently I'm teaching a first year seminar on mineral resources and sustainability.

My research focuses on understanding the evolution of the Earth's mantle using volcanoes!

I'm coming over from #geotwitter because, well, you know....
