At the last minute I also managed to tick off an important checkbox for my week of holidays:
✅ Reinstall my personal laptop
There were some hiccups during installation (it was spewing the same error over and over, duly reported). But it's up and running.
1️⃣ No more dual boot
👋 No #Windows11 for my personal laptop
Fingerprint log-in, less typing!
🌍 Device entering its 14th year in a month – no need for the latest hardware just to run an OS
I'm slightly embarrassed to say, but my desktop OS (Ubuntu 18.04) has been 'out of standard support' for well over two years now. Much of the software has no more update paths. Plus there are a few well-publicized security holes, the fixes for which aren't backported (naturally).
But: it's my #GeekWeek, so no more excuses. I finally backed up my data, and I'll wipe the hard disk and (hopefully manage to) do a clean Ubuntu install today.
Today's progress:
✅ Did the long-overdue update of @AntennaPod's privacy policy - learning about interactive rebases in the process
✅ Meeting with UX/UI designers to distribute work for the AntennaPod player screen mock-ups.
✅ The first flex components made in @penpot for use across all screens. (Really curious how the rest of the screens will take shape by the experts!)
Time to go to bed on time tonight.
Way past bed time, I'm ending day 1 of my #GeekWeek. I progressed nicely with a bunch of improvement requests created for the awesome @adventurelog: https://github.com/seanmorley15/AdventureLog/issues?q=is%3Aissue%20state%3Aopen%20author%3Akeunes
And upgraded to 0.10 in the process, which has some very nice UI improvements 🎉
(this also also involved upgrading Postgres in the database container which was a bit of a challenge but went fine with the help of @[email protected])
And now, off to bed 😴
This morning @ByteHamster and I looked at a bunch of feature and improvement requests for @AntennaPod. Taking a record time (I think) of 2 hours, we managed to reject and accept 6 requests.

Not the most efficient session, but that's what happens if you have to catch up on life as well 😅
Yet another time at irregular interval, due to holidays and festivals. We: briefly looked at website PRs that should be followed up and discussed Privacy Policy reworked by comradekingu · Pull Request #139 · AntennaPod/antennapod.github.io · GitHub → Specific changes to be hand-picked. One more change to make: we don’t request generic storage permission any-more (only if you select a specific local folder). I will follow up. discussed the existence of two PRs on the same topic: More details ...
