I'm Nikki, an #ExPat Brit (who is half Canadian and now a U.S. Citizen) living just west of #PDX, Portland, OR.

As a #trans and #queer person growing up in the 1980s and 90s, Music became a much-needed escape from the real world, and I ended up attending #GSMD in London and becoming a professional #Oboist and #MusicTeacher.

In 2010 I changed career. I'm the owner and co-presenter of @show, where we try to help the world become cleaner, greener, safer, smarter and more equitable through greener transportation and clean energy. (@Aminorjourney is my work account).

My name is Nikki. I’m married to the amazing @amerikate. I’m a former #classical #Oboist who went to #MusicCollege in London at #GSMD.
After 10 years of music I decided to become an #ElectricCar journalist. I’ve written for numerous sites but now I run @show with an amazing team of people that include @pyoor, @BeanieCam and @erin_etc . We make content together about cleaner, greener, safer and smarter transport.

I’m an #expat #Brit who is now #ashamed of her birth country and how it treats #trans people like me. I’ve lived in #oregon #usa since 2015.

Kate and I raised two adopted kids who are now forging their own way in the world. I embarrassed our kids plenty.

In my spare time (I don’t have much) I can be found #gardening, tending to my #chickens or making stuff. I love #RetroComputing and I’m a total #nerd. I sometimes dress a bit funny as the giant time-traveling dog that’s @QueenieDeerhart . (And Chimichanga fox)
