I'm Nikki, an #ExPat Brit (who is half Canadian and now a U.S. Citizen) living just west of #PDX, Portland, OR.
As a #trans and #queer person growing up in the 1980s and 90s, Music became a much-needed escape from the real world, and I ended up attending #GSMD in London and becoming a professional #Oboist and #MusicTeacher.
In 2010 I changed career. I'm the owner and co-presenter of @show, where we try to help the world become cleaner, greener, safer, smarter and more equitable through greener transportation and clean energy. (@Aminorjourney is my work account).

Where Transport Evolved Began (Our Origin Story)
I’m not going to lie: today I’m feeling a little nervous.
Why? because I have a Root Canal 🦷, my first and hopefully last.
I’ve always looked after my teeth: I was 41 before I got a filling, and even then it was tiny.
But… I have resorption on one of my teeth, external resoption, which is basically when your teeth starts eating itself from the inside.
So, Root Canal time it is… followed by a crown… and then oral surgery to fix the gaping hole on the side of my tooth well below my gum.
As a former #oboist, I think my brain is going “But what if I can’t play?” #dentist #brain
Time for a proper #introduction as I moved here from another instance.

After 10 years of music I decided to become an #ElectricCar journalist. I’ve written for numerous sites but now I run @show with an amazing team of people that include @pyoor, @BeanieCam and @erin_etc . We make content together about cleaner, greener, safer and smarter transport.
I’m an #expat #Brit who is now #ashamed of her birth country and how it treats #trans people like me. I’ve lived in #oregon #usa since 2015.
Kate and I raised two adopted kids who are now forging their own way in the world. I embarrassed our kids plenty.
In my spare time (I don’t have much) I can be found #gardening, tending to my #chickens or making stuff. I love #RetroComputing and I’m a total #nerd. I sometimes dress a bit funny as the giant time-traveling dog that’s @QueenieDeerhart . (And Chimichanga fox)
