The finished cake!

Photo is a Yule Log cake. It's y shaped. The cake is gluten free, chocolate sponge. There's whipped PB frosting in the center and chocolate ganache for the bark. Meringue mushrooms are scattered around on the cake with a little bit of confectioners sugar sprinkled on top.

Been baking & cleaning up all effing day. 🤣 It's my own fault because I left everything to today.

Here's our dessert for tonight. It's just the 4 of us so I baked a 6" flourless chocolate cake with chocolate ganache on top, a sprinkle of confectioners sugar to give it color. The photo is the cake on a plate. I'm not 100% sure but I think the photo is slightly out of focus. Oh well! It will be delicious.

I started my Yule Log. Made meringue mushrooms (twice 🙄) & the sponge. #food #FuckYeahCake

Photo is a triangular white plate with a chocolate lava cake with raspberries and mint on top, vanilla and chocolate dot tuile cookies, creme anglaise with raspberry coulis hearts, and caramelized sugar spirals. I was told that my creme anglaise was "excellent" and the tuile cookies were the best of the day!! Coming from Chef, that is very high praise. #food #baking #FuckYeahCake

Yesterday in Baking II we cut & decorated our almond cake petit fours. I have experience with dipping chocolates so I finished mine pretty quickly. They're delicious & being sold tomorrow at school to raise funds for the culinary club on campus. Some look like the ones below, others decorated with royal icing Christmas trees and wreaths. Photo is rows of small, square chocolate dipped cakes some have white chocolate striped across the top, some in the background are plain. #food #FuckYeahCake

Almost done with my Icing Artistry practical! Not perfect but I'm happy with how it looks.

It's a round 2 tiered cake. Top is about 2" smaller than the bottom. Theme is #weather. 1st photo shows windy (marzipan tree bent over, leaves flying all around), snowflakes & symbol for hurricane, 2nd is clouds with lightning & an umbrella with rain drops. 3rd is clouds with lightning & a tornado. 4th is the top of the cake. It says "You can weather any storm" in green buttercream. #food #FuckYeahCake

Next Wednesday is Older Kidlet's 20th birthday. He decided to come home tonight for pizza Friday and cake. Below, the cake. Left photo is the cake cut in half on a plate with a knife in front of it, the right is the entire thing on a plate. Sinfully delicious.

It's a gluten free chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting, chocolate ganache and cut up pieces of Reece's peanut butter cups.

I'm ready to try new things with baking. Unfortunately people I love keep having birthdays & this cake is at the top of everyone's list. Photo is a close up of a 2 layer 6" gluten free chocolate cake on a plate with peanut butter frosting, bittersweet chocolate ganache swirled in the top & some drips on the side. On the top edge of the cake there's peanut butter cups cut in half & stuffed into piped PB frosting stars. It's repeated on the bottom edge too.

I'm still migraining and my hands are shaky so I don't know that this one necessarily qualifies for #FuckYeahCake, especially with the color of the frosting, but I know Younger Kidlet LOVES mint Oreos and has no idea that I could even make frosting with it, so hopefully he likes it.

Coming full circle with this weekend's baking- for dessert tonight, instead of going to the store for more lemons, I defrosted 6 chocolate cupcakes & frosted them with brown butter frosting I whipped up in the #Ankarsrum mixer. Treasures from the freezer for the win! (Weird how I couldn't serve my MIL a broken cake but will serve her 6 week old defrosted cupcakes. 🤷🏻‍♀️) Photo is 4 chocolate cupcakes with rosettes piped in brown butter frosting. They're on a white plate.

6" gluten free vanilla 2 layer cake with brown butter chocolate frosting, stars of vanilla frosting around the top and bottom edge, chocolate ganache drips on the side. Happy with how this one came out. It needs some Heath bar crunchies, but my FIL is having difficulty with chewing hard things so, not this time. I hope they like it. #baking #food #gf #FuckYeahCake
