A few days ago we were in the low 80s. This morning we woke up to the silvery sheen of ice trying so hard to be snow. Then it sleeted all day long and we’ve been stuck inside. Definitely not used to cold weather and I’m ready for it to pass. I miss summer every day. Here are some lovely eggs I was gifted by a friend

When I lived in Richfield, we were allowed to have 3 chickens, & we did for a while.

But in Centerville, which is literally walking distance from farms, my 1/3 acre lot (almost twice the size Richfield's was) is not big enough to allow me to have chickens, by ordinance.

I think I may just fucking get some chickens as an act of resistance, and survival.

Thought I’d share our bountiful egg harvest so far today and our silly Doberman, Harley, in her sweater checking out the snow. Now that I’ve fed and watered our indoor menagerie (four cats, two parakeets, and one dog) I’m snuggled in a blanket drinking tea.
