Ari "Two Elements" JacksonThe chicks are getting big enough that when I unzip the top of the little nylon and mesh pen that they are in, they start flying out, up onto the edge, and then right up onto my shoulders! Ohhh, my heart! 😍
I have to make sure that I I'm wearing a crummy shirt and have sanitizing wipes nearby, because they are absolute poop machines.
But oh my gosh, they are so stinking cute! I'll try to put a video up on my Loops tomorrow.
Peanut is finally starting to get tail feathers! He's still VERY tiny, and he's still very much acting like a rooster. He's also not nearly as friendly and inquisive as the girls are.
Poor little guy. I'm really not sure what I will do with him when the time to re-home him comes. I've even looked into anti-crow collars already. They don't really do much good. 😩

Stheno and Alecto, you silly girls!!! Stheno is our supermodel very buff colored Wheaten girl in the front, Alecto is behind her and is a much ruddier version of the Wheaten color for Marans hens. They represent the two farthest extremes of variability in appearance of our girls.

"Lieblingsplatz" impliziert, dass man sich da öfter aufhält, da fallen also alle wunderbaren Urlaubsflecken weg. Mein zukünftiger Lieblingsplatz vor der Terrassentür entsteht gerade erst, darum gibt es alternativ einen Platz, an dem ich jeden Tag Zeit verbringe. Ich könnt stundenlang Hühner TV gucken. 😄 An dieser Stelle entschuldige ich mich auch bei den Damen, dass wir den ganzen Bauschutt, aus dem quasi der halbe Garten besteht, temporär bei ihnen abladen müssen. Aber zumindest kann man da gut scharren.

My future favourite place behind the patio is still a work in progress, so here's an alternative spot where I spend time every day. I could watch Hen TV for hours. 😄 I need to apologize to the ladies for dumping all the rubble( which is currently 50 per cent of our garden soil) into the chicken run for now. Still, it's perfect for scratching.

My view every evening, the chickens waiting for me on the deck eager for their evening incentive snack to return to their coop run for the night.
Nothing....and I mean nothing motivates a chicken to haul ass more than when she thinks one of her flock sisters just foraged something good in the grass. 😂

Molly is maybe too interested in the babies? I can't tell if she's trying to guard them or if she wants to eat them. I think it's guarding.
I put the chicks in a laundry basket briefly today so my family could come see them. That gave me a chance to better clean their current enclosure.
