Having discovered two baptism records for the same person a year or so apart, the thought occurred that there may have been an infant death and a name reused. Checking the birth and death indexes for England at #FreeBMD, I see three possible birth records and two possible death records.

Does anyone, please, have professional experience of #FindAGrave ?

Someone set up a Findagrave record for Hirsch Hans Hirschfeld with correct date of birth but all else unknown. A quick search on Wiki shows his career as a distinguished German Jewish Haematologist who was arrested by the Nazis then transported to Theresienstadt and murdered in 1944.

Something feels really wrong here.

I've seen zero detail F'grave records set up from #FreeBMD before.

This feels bad.

Hey! I don't know if I'd call this "more information," really, but I'm 99% certain I've found a reference to her birth record thanks to #FreeBMD, a project to digitize and transcribe historical civil records for England and Wales. Most similar services are paid, so check them out at https://www.freebmd.org.uk if you get a chance; the work they're doing is really cool!

Anyway her middle name was Margaret and she was born in late '06, near Neath. Now we know!

Hi both! I am now working as a volunteer for #FreeUKGenealogy and one part of this is to improve the the accessibility of #FreeBMD, #FreeCEN, and #FreeREG. I'm working as part of a small team improving the materials we provide to our volunteers working in #UX #HTML and #CSS as part of their onboarding/ongoing support to enable them to make our websites as useful as possible.
So, before I go back to the mysterious Cummings DNA matches, I need to fill in the blanks of my own tree, specifically my 3rd great-grandmother, Jane, who married William Simpson in Scotland then moved with him to Cumberland. #AncestryHour #Genealogy #FreeBMD 7/?
I had initially done research on my Simpson line about 10 years ago, and got stymied with not only his common name but also the common name of his wife, Jane. My own skills have improved, plus access to online BMDs have increased so a set of my own fresh eyes on my old research is what's needed right now. #AncestryHour #Genealogy #FreeBMD 5/?
