I know #Disney will want all of us to think tomorrow is all about #StarWars but there's something more important.

I learned last year that May 4th, 1970 was the day of the #KentStateShooting.

The picture of a young girl kneeling over a student killed from a shot to the head came from this.

Tomorrow will be the #55Anniversary of four students shot and killed by national guard. And now someone much worse than #Nixon is in charge.

The girl in the Kent State photo and the lifelong burden of being a national symbol

In 1970, an image of a dead protester at Kent State became iconic. But what happened to the 14-year-old kneeling next to him?

The Washington Post
I have spent a lot of years in journalism, and I have to say this is spot on. The response to protestors by Columbia University (and University of Texas, Austin) has taken us back to 1968. It feels like we're one misstep away from a Buffalo Springfield song. #TinSoldiers #columbia_university #Protests #FourDeadInOhio

I suppose now is as good a time as any to remind people what happened at a student anti-war protest at Kent State University, Ohio on 4th May 1970.
