Failing to stop Chara from stealing Frisk's DETERMINATION, both Sans, Frisk and Flowey get on the move to stop Chara from causing destruction on the UNDERGROUND, Sans suggests bringing Gaster along, who survived after their encounter. and after a reunion with Sans- Frisk suggest giving the 6 Human SOULs to Flowey, as that would secure the timeline for now.
Sans is hesitant- but Gaster agrees, and takes them all to the Barrier.
After giving Flowey the 6 SOULs, Chara shows up unexpectedly. and the team decides on trying to stop Chara there and then.
