Randomly thinking about #Undertale, which is not a #game I think about often despite all the memes, and realizing that, from some perspective, in the good ending, you become the final boss.
Flowey/Asrael is basically a player who has been grinding in the background for the whole game, and is now fully maxed out, and you are, not simply any final boss, but Sans, the boss that refuses to attack, at the end of what was basically his genocide run. Even the music shifts in the fight to be your hero theme rather than his, as you peace your way to disarming him.
It's been a while since I played it, and it's possible in all these years I've considered this interpretation before, but it was still intriguing when it went through my head.
