The #MarsHelicopter sent us a postcard from #Flight58. Mandu Wall, looking north.

Did a check to see how far off I was in locating landing 58, and the result is within the green ellipse: https://mastodon.social/@65dBnoise/111057294021200201

The reason the #MarsHelicopter was not seen is because it was too early; #Flight58 landed at LMST: 11:19:57, but that image was captured at 10:43:04. πŸ€“ The images were captured from different locations.

#Ingenuity's popup #Flight59, scheduled for tomorrow, will take off and land here (#Flight58 landing). If the #MarsHelicopter does a 180Β° turn, then we might be able to see a few pixels of #Perseverance from ~390m away and 20m high in the air. πŸ₯΄

#Ingenuity should be somewhere in there (~390m away) after #Flight58, but I can't see it in those 63mm images.

#Ingenuity flew #Flight58 on Sol 910, as planned.

The map shows a possible landing location that roughly matches the ground features seen in the images.

Here is a visibility plot from #Perseverance's new location at RMC 44.4864.

Tosol, Sol 910, #Ingenuity's #Flight58 is expected to take place. With some luck, some part of it might even be captured by one of rover's cameras, as both takeoff and landing locations appear to be visible. The rover seems to have rushed to be at a suitable location. πŸ˜€

With the ink that printed the announcement of a successful #Flight57 still wet (yeah, that was the cliche back in the day of paper news), #Ingenuity's #Flight58 is now announced for Sep 11, 2023:
