La véritable solution réside dans les systèmes de distribution d'applications interopérables : plus besoin de cibler un OS et une version spécifiques, on peut juste cibler la plateforme de distribution. Ce sont les #flatpak, #snap et autres #appimage de ce monde.

Malheureusement, elles ont toutes des limitations importantes :
- flatpak est limité aux applications graphiques : impossible de distribuer une CLI avec
- snap est le pré carré de #Canonical, et souffre de sa mauvaise réputation

@stupidduos the problem is that even the #flatpak examples don't specify a "runtime-version" option. The tutorial for building your first flatpak omits it. Yes. i chose a version, and I eventually built a flatpak. It required me to guess that "runtime-version" is effectively mandatory under a default configuration.

Somehow #flatpak makes building a #snap seem sensible (it's not).

@ggn that is bananas! Love the idea of the package just opening a URL, but, since its #flatpak, you'll probably need a full web browser in the package. And the have the GNOME runtime as a dependency. So a cool 2.0GB to open the URL.

Just specifying the sdk in the #flatpak manifest causes the build to fail. It never even gets to my janky source code.
