Can anyone point me to an online Java compiler which runs the JDK on Windows? I only find Linux systems.

I would be particularly interested in what

java.nio.file.Path.of("a/b/c")

returns on a Windows system. My hunch is that it is the same as

java.nio.file.Path.of("a\\b\\c")

because the forward slash, afair, also works as a path separator. Or is the forward slash merely a no-go character like ':' and many others?

I believe #GitLab issue https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/-/issues/324126 is important (not top-prio, but still important), but can't really put my finger on why. Can you help me come up with reasons so I can comment arguing for it to be reopened (and hopefully fixed)?

Maybe @yournameisinvalid can help? The #bug is about #fileNames, not names of people, but I suspect there might be some overlap.

I'd refer to @spolsky's https://www.joelonsoftware.com/2003/10/08/the-absolute-minimum-every-software-developer-absolutely-positively-must-know-about-unicode-and-character-sets-no-excuses/, but I fear that might come across as condescending, which isn't my goal.

I legit forgot what the "search" on my #webpage was called ( #filename),
so I had to use the search it self to search for it

The new .zip TLD is going to cause some problems · How to know whether ‘example.zip’ is an URL or a filename? https://ilo.im/12wwd2

The new .zip TLD is going to cause some problems

Many years ago, Google applied for the .zip Top Level Domain. ICANN, in its infinite wisdom, granted it. And now, I think, bad things are going to happen. You see computers try to be helpful. They see you wrote "visit example.com" and autolink the thing which looks like a domain name. That's handy - especially as most people don't have the time or skill to write HTML. So what happens when…

Troubleshooting #epub files as a favor for a great cause (#Ethiopian #literacy project). Would a messy #filename like Port_(85_of_89).jpg cause errors like this: "Referenced resource "OEBPS/image/Port_(85_of_89).jpg" is not declared in the OPF manifest." 🇪🇹 📚
