In honor of Female Bird Day—this weekend (https://femalebirdday.wordpress.com/)—the female Cape May Warbler gave me a couple poses as she pecked around. #birds #birding #birdwatching #birdphotography #warbler #warblers #SpringMigration #MNastodon #FemaleBirdDay #nature #NaturePhotography

Upending the duck, duck, goose cadence, this uncommonly pretty common female Mallard pauses for her closeup in front of two goslings.

Happy #FemaleBirdDay Birdathon Weekend from this lovely Rose-Breasted Grosbeak.

It is impossible to convey the deep sense of giddy squee I experienced when I spotted this hole full of baby pygmy nuthatches and watched their mother sallying back and forth to a nearby tree to gather delicious, nutritious bugs for them to eat. They were all so #smol. 🥹

Happy #FemaleBirdDay!

Today seems like a great day to start the #FemaleBirdDay and #GalbatrossProject hashtags in the fediverse.

For those who are unfamiliar, my colleagues and I in the Galbatross Project have been promoting a greater appreciation for female #birds in research and #birding for the last few years.

While we called it Female Bird Day, appreciating female birds is 24/7/365!!!
