#ThursdayThrowback to two years ago when @CTGT and I got our first and only sighting of an Ash-throated Flycatcher on the opposite side of the country, quite far from its western U.S. and Mexican home region.

Berry good. A hermit thrush enjoys its snack from a climbing bittersweet vine.

A year after coming oh-so-close to finally seeing a Clay-colored Sparrow, I finally clapped eyes and bins on one. Last November one was repeatedly sighted at a nearby location so @CTGT and I headed out to find this rare-in-our-area small sparrow. After four hours with no success, I had to leave to attend a workshop. My husband and a friend stayed to continue the search and, of course, found it. One returned to our neck of the woods about two weeks ago and after three visits, I was finally rewarded with adding this skulky little creature to my lifer list.
