Tied up this cute little fly in hand. The wings were very fiddly. Haven't made one of these since last winter. There are plenty of imperfections, but it's a good first attempt for the season. The gold and green wraps are button hole silk. The collar is some kind of duck. The wings are speckled quail.

Not bad for my first turkey-slip wing.

I'm gonna try to put a turkey slip wing on it, but I have no idea what I'm doing.

Out again at Stone Mountain for the sunset. The sunfish are very aggressive right now. I caught a handful on this little featherwing fly.

I haven't tied flies in hand for a couple of months. I caught a juvenile spotted bass with one of these on the Ocmulgee River yesterday. It was the only fish that I caught, and I caught it before my first cast! The fly was drifting in the water while I was peeling line off of the reel.

The silk thread came from a lot of vintage silk on eBay.

I'm trying a new glue out, and I'm not super happy with it now. Gorilla glue original formula. Maybe I'll like it when it's dry.

I also need a better light at my tying desk.

These sparse feather wing flies have been working really well for me this season. Those are hen feathers. This one is tied on a Gamakatsu T10-3H salmon hook in size 4. The Partridge salmon low water single in size 4 is also a good option.

I like the @adafruit #Feather and #Featherwing system. It’s like electronic version of Lego to play with #CircuitPython πŸ˜…
I start to have a good collection (I have some more not on this photo).
I have this lovely #Keyboard #Featherwing from (before there was) #solderparty and its previously worked but now, well now, it feels like the display backlight has just died and not sure what to do about it? Replace LCD? It doesn’t seem to pass tests (says SDA on I2C is busy) This is with a #UnexpecteMaker FeatherS2 - am I missing something obvious?
