@ReggieHere @ChrisMayLA6 @thecasualcritic Actually, Labour's role as jailer of the left dates back to the 1920s. The wretched #Fabians defeated the co-operators, and focused on a technocratic model of social democracy: Morrisonian nationalisation, where middle-class chaps managed industry, purportedly on behalf of the workers.
The wartime leftish Commonwealth Party was crushed by warnings of vote-splitting in 1945, and then there was no serious threat from the left until the 21st century.
YouGov have two polls out today. Another repeat of their last one with a 27-point lead for Labour, and one commissioned by the Fabians showing a 24-point lead.
The Fabians' one is a part of this white paper focusing on 150 key marginal seats they've identified, in which Labour has a 34% lead.
It's a fantastic analysis that makes for some excellent reading.
