I posted this pic of an ESL made sensor on the Ferrari turbo plenum. I've been corrected, its not a vibration sensor, but the FIA homologated boost pressure sensor. So every #F1 car will have these fitted.

Noses are now 2-stage crash structures, so that some 'nose' remains in case of a secondary impact. You can see the split line within.
Much of the external surface of the 'nose' is bonded on aero bodywork and not a significant part of the crash structure.

The sides are thick & form a large part of the impact structure, the lower edge then trimmed to allow for the sculpted lower surface, hence the chassis mounts are above this line.
