I must have been in Enstone on this day, at some point back in history. One of the snaps is of a Benetton B193B cockpit

A couple of lovely #F1retro shots from
Detroit and Long Beach 1983 found on facebook.
McLaren MP4/1 TAG turbo stripped, the size of that fuel tank!
Williams FW08 Cosworth, note gear lever and exposed coilovers.

Here's a curious part, from BAR, a final drive gear. But, it looks like a spool (locked) differential.
Rare, but spools were used in #F1 back in the day, mainly at tracks like Monza, were a differential wasn't needed.

Back in 1983, before active & FRIC suspension, Ligier #F1 tested a Citroën hydraulic suspension.
You can see the pressure vessel on the top of the chassis.
I've never found any other details on it (?). As it was soon dropped for a conventional set-up. #F1Tech #F1retro

Jump forward a few years, and there's this late 90s Jordan #F1 steering wheel, c1998 1999.
My one is a resin copy, cast from the original moulds.
At 280mm wide & 200mm deep. The original was made in carbon fibre.

Not in my collection 😕, but sold by @MotorsportMemo1
A mock up dash from the Jordan 191 #F1
Apparently made by Andy Stevenson one of the original staff & still at the team (now AMR).
The car went through different dash designs, as the buttons required & display changed

Jordan 191 #F1, the car still used a 'conventional' steering wheel. Made by MOMO, it started as a semi circular design and later had the top edge removed to see the dash better.
Here's my wooden factory show car version.
260mm wide 220mm tall and ~25mm grips.

Something new (old) from @ScarbsTech workbench.
Younger followers may not have seen this before. In the 70/80s when fires & being trapped in the car were more common, rules demanded that drivers had an air supply into their helmet to allow them to breathe.
