We had a full day's tour while in Buenos Aires at the start of our South American cruise in 2016. This began with a visit to La Recoleta Cemetery. Laid out in a grid pattern like a city with some wide avenues and some side streets between mausoleums, largely of very rich or prominent families in the city, this is most famously the resting place of Eva Perón. An overcast day gave it all a suitably sombre feel for the visit but the large number of stray cats around the place cheered us up.
