Weather was decent, so I had a ride down the #interurban to Greenwood for coffee this afternoon. Lots of bikes out. Runners. Dogs getting walks and sniffs. Love to see it.

I dont think I ate enough today though and bonked hard a few miles from home. Struggled to finish and stumbled in the door then straight to the kitchen looking for anything edible to shove in my mouth.

Brant (Branta bernicla), a small coastal goose, about the size of seagull (one of which is included for comparison). I've only seen these once, a flock of about 20 on the Edmonds Waterfront, and they took off about 15 minutes after I got there. (from April)

I ran my first real timed race today, at the #edmondswa Brackett 5k. Finished in 24:44 and I am sooo pleased with this. I was just hoping to get under 27min! It turns out, having people constantly next to me really lights my competitive drive. I credit this 8 yr old who was cooking for knocking 30 seconds off my time as I committed at any cost to stay on his tail. He did beat me across the finish in the end though :).
