Alas, Steam did not take my advice, but there are still plenty of DRM-free games on Steam. With that being said, I tend to prefer purchasing […]

[Quote] Capcom: DRM-free on GOG, DRM’d on Steam

Capcom released four classic games without DRM on GOG. It then made those games available on Steam, but this time with heavy DRM protection.

@petko That problem also persists for physical media:

Even if one were to legally buy the DVD or blu-ray of CyberSix, one would still have the problem that it won't play outside the region it was released in.

- So >85% of all people cannot legally play the blu-ray version of CyberSix.

- OFC that problem doesn't apply to those that ~obtained~ it elsewhere...

when person buys license to ebook on Kindle the email it is linked to which is for amazon.com or amazon.com.au where it was licensed will be linked to that ebook so

a) only when logged in to Kindle app with same email as Amazon account where it was licensed will it be visible
or
b) it has to be refunded from one online store e.g. amazon.com.au then licensed with the email and online store e.g. amazon.com that all the other Kindle books are in
or
c) person has to view one Amazon site's account's ebooks on browser on Amazon site with Kindle reader and other Amazon site's account's ebooks in Kindle app
or
d) login and logout of Kindle app with different emails to see different ebooks in each site's silo

each site has different currency and maybe different purchase history for business or personal

different email addresses can only share Kindle ebooks if they are on same site not between different sites

this is to do with DRM (digital rights management) for different regions of publishers
