@kim

I doubt it, for three reasons.

1: The conversions into km/h are given.

2: 70 km/h does not seem to match up with any major mainland European speed limit.

3: It's the same on the German site, which uses the English word "motorway" in the illustration.

@markus

Heh!

Speed up over 70mph: look like you are flashing your headlamps to yield to other traffic.

It certainly seems that humanity is *automating* the behaviours of the worst drivers on the road.

And calling it "safety" and "assistance".

Don't get me started on what "Intelligent Speed Assist" turns out to do in practice. (-:

#motorways #AdaptiveHeadlamps #Ford #DriverAssistance #RoadSafety

How Does Intelligent Speed Assist Work?

Intelligent Speed Assist is designed to aid your speed control, enabling you to concentrate on the road. First, a front-facing camera automatically detects the current speed limit. If activated, the system adjusts your maximum speed setting to that limit*. *It...

What is with car manufacturers?

Ford U.K. has a vehicle feature designed for motorways that only kicks in when one is exceeding the maximum legal speed on any motorway.

What are Adaptive Headlamps

The adaptive front lighting system optimises your vehicle's headlight beam patterns to suit specific driving conditions. Such as for motorway, city, or country road driving, as well as parking and cornering manoeuvres. As well as your standard high beam and low...

The car industry continues to demonstrate its moral bankruptcy.

Proposals to allow lane changing systems in European and UK cars, BUT still class them as Level 2 (SAE) so the driver is held responsible.

Systems that do not work well, questionable if they ever can and which the driver is not actually in control of will be blamed if there's an issue.

Nice.

Hackaday

Earlier this week I spent a day with a variety of new cars from a variety of manufacturers, all fitted with the latest driver assistance and safety tech for their specifications and trim levels. The result is, I have an opinion or two. Many of which were echoed or even more emphatically stated by others there.
