On this particular day I would like to send out my best wishes to #Taiwan as it's #DoubleTenDay aka the National Holiday of the Rebublic of China today.

Enjoy the long weekend, the evening out and the fireworks.

Long live Taiwan as a beacon of #freedom and #democracy in #asia
And always keep in mind that #TaiwanisnotChina.

Images below are from Taipei, Kaohsiung, Tainan and Taichung.

Not sure if this works as #deterrence, but this mix of cheerleaders and #manga-style mascots of army and navy personnel parading in #Taipei is so 100% typical for #Taiwan. #DoubleTenDay

Going full #Taiwan style on #DoubleTenDay and managed to squeeze in a #Taichung landmark as well. Good times!
Luckily the old #Guabao vendor at #Taichung's Xiangshang #nightmarket is back, and he put some seriously chunky bits of pork meat into my two buns. Fingerlickin goodness! Maybe it was a #DoubleTenDay special? #food #Taiwan #travel
Happy #DoubleTenDay, #Taiwan. Although I do not really like that flag (too much #KMT in it) and I think that either July 15 (lifting of martial law in 1987) or March 23 (1996, first free presidential elections) would be better choices for it's National holiday. Fireworks tonight in #Taichung, yay!

Today is #DoubleTenDay, the national holiday of #Taiwan. Which is a country of its own and most definitely not a part of China.
#HappyBirthday, free and democratic Taiwan!

On this very day, I have to applaud an action performed last week in #Munich at the Consulate of #China. It's only a projection of light, no damage has been done to the building - maybe to some fragile minds of Chinese *communists*, but that's not really a problem then.

@bikejourno #DoubleTenDay in 2020 should be extra special.

All the best to the fine people of #Taiwan, one of the most #diverse and #democratic countries in #Asia (and sure as hell not a rogue province or part of China).

Today it's #DoubleTenDay, which is Taiwan's National Day.

One of the quirks of having some holidays on the lunar calendar & some on the solar calendar is that the spacing between holidays is different from year to year. This weekend is Mid-Autumn Festival (4 days this year), & the national day makes a long weekend next week. That's right, folks, 2 long weekends in a row. If it weren't for Covid-19, taking 4 days off work could've given you an 11-day international holiday.
