And here I am sitting in front of four working monitors (three external, two via #HDMI, one via #USBC), all configured through #KDE and using #Displaylink and #EVDI #KernelModules without any faffing around, except for plugging things into the correct ports to begin with. #FreeSoftware has come a long way in the decades since I started using it. And now, more often that not, #ItJustWorks!
Finally! After three months of niggling frustration, I got #Displaylink to work with a new #Linux #kernel. That allows me to connect a monitor via a #USB, rather than an #HDMI connection, giving me to attach two or more monitors as the case may be. I’d been running 6.16.12 since that was the last one that worked with it, watching new kernel updates come and go.
macOSのNight ShiftやmacOS 26 Tahoeの新アイコンに対応し、HiDPIモードをデフォルト設定とした「DisplayLink Manager macOS v15.0.0」がリリース。

I have just been struggling for some time to get my #displaylink usb dock to work with #debian #trixie.
I just succeeded, but it includes non-free packages and weird scripts. I'll probably do a quick write up, so I know how to do it next time.
Do we alternatives to displaylink over USB?
Yes, we can do hdmi/display directly, but I like my dock with ethernet and usb stuff connected nicely, so I only have to connect one cable to my laptop.
