I remember when the first eIDAS plans were there, since the company I worked for wanted to make inter-EU digital identities possible. This would allow digital government functionality like we had in NL or EE for people in other EU countries.

But reading https://last-chance-for-eidas.org/ I can only wonder just what the fuck has been going on since I left all that behind in 2018. These kinds of things were nowhere near the specs at that time.
