🔐 Privacy in Research Data: Where do we draw the line?
Lea Singson's talk on "Privacy Considerations in Research" from the Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Digitalisation of Research is online, in which she explored the complex landscape of personal data in academic research—from the false sense of security in naive anonymization attempts to cutting-edge privacy-preserving analysis techniques.

Privacy Considerations in Research

This presentation sketched the scenario of academic research on personal data, and discuss common pitfalls regarding (in-effective) anonymization attempts, and technical approaches towards privacy-preserving analyses. It was held in context of the Interdisciplinary Colloquium on Digitalisation of Research of the Leibniz Science Campus "DiTraRe" (=Digital Transformation of Research).

The recording of our interdisciplinary colloquium talk by Lina Franken is now available: Testing, Exploring, Infrastructuring. Critical-Reflexive Perspectives on Digital Practices within Social Sciences and the Humanities.

As research becomes more fragmented, the talk explores the shift toward thinking in models & structuring data across new scales

How does digitalization influence science and society on the path toward more sustainable futures? This question lies at the heart of the Interdisciplinary International Graduate Summer School.

Great possibility to deep-dive into this and a lot more questions by our #DiTraRe project partner Institut für Technikfolgenabschätzung und Systemanalyse @ITAS 👏
