The #EditFunctionality in #Mastodon is #amazing, I #loveit.

I'm very glad they added it, I edit my posts like all the time.
Also sometimes I use the older option of "#DeleteAndRedraft" so nobody sees that I edited it.

Then I don't need to be ashamed that I had any errors to begin with, since if I edit my posts people can see my #EditHistory.

Another difference between #DeleteAndRedraft and #Edit is that the edit option marks your toot as edited.

While delete and redraft is a completely new post with the original words copied then altered.

So delete and redraft is the preferable one to me ... but edit saves your thread and replies.

I wish you could set my default #post #privacy on #Mastodon separately for #posts and #replies.

I find it useful to have my original posts #public, but my replies #unlisted, so they don't clog the timeline and only show to people reading the reply thread.

However, I always forget to switch it manually and have to #DeleteAndRedraft. Anyone else?

@cookmandy I LOVE that feature... I cannot express that enough.

I'm using it rather a lot as even thought I'm on desktop rather than phone... My fingers have great muscle memory for typing... Which does not transfer very well when you get a new keyboard with slightly different sized keycaps.

So 99% of the time... Words like Don't or any other contraction are spelled don;t

Every damn time... and there's my odd 4 finger speed typing that causes me to write adn or yuo a lot.
