I don't understand ... I thought my home feed was just accounts I followed, maybe local to my server accounts too. My home feed has been full of trash that I'm like, why did I ever follow this account? But then I click to look at the account page, and I'm not following them ... and they aren't a newsie.social either.

Did something change? Or have I just always been wrong and confused about my "home" feed?

On my own profile page now I see "Trending Now" instead of "Featured Hashtags."

How do I view my own featured hashtags? How does anyone view them?

I'm not looking for "Followed hashtags" but the ones I've set as featured in my profile. I routinely use them to review my own related posts.

Potentially a dumb question, especially given how long I've been on Mastodon, and have been promoting it to people. How do I see a person's own toots? Not their boosts, replies to others, etc. Just the ones they craft with their own fingers ( if they're posting a website using a toot that's fine too). But ones they themselves toot. I thought I knew, but now that I search a friend's for his snow report, I couldn't separate all those things out. 😞

Is there a way to post a URL to my *profile* page on mastodon without an @ symbol in the link? Many systems will reject links with that character or try to convert it to an email.

ANSWER: use "users" in the URL eg:

https: // sauropods.win /users /futurebird
