When my daughter moved out of home I gifted her one.
Why? When I moved out of home my mother gave me a sewing kit. I never thought I’d need a sewing kit! It seemed an odd choice to me the time, but it’s saved my ass countless times.
So I gave my daughter a small tidy toolkit. Something she probably never thought she’d need but will always help her out in a pinch.
I still have mums sewing kit 30 years later.
GhostsheetZKiddo declared sunday as crazy hair day and helped me out as a courtesy.
TomSchmidtGestern Nacht war Tochter mit Freundin aus. Ich hatte ihr gesagt, dass ich sie abhole bzw im Zweifelsfall (ich war ziemlich müde) ein Taxi spendiere.
Um drei Uhr rief sie an. Taxi war keines zu bekommen, ebensowenig wie ein Uber.
Also schwang ich mich aus dem Bett und machte mich auf den Weg. Die ganze Zeit, während ich unterwegs war, und die beiden vor dem Club auf mich warteten, hielten wir telefonischen Kontakt. Deshalb bekam ich mit,

Ich bin um 9:30 Uhr heute morgen los, weil ein Kumpel mich zu einem Brunch eingeladen hat.
Während des Brunchs kommt ein Herr an unseren Tisch, der mich mit mit dem Nachnamen meiner Tochter anspricht und dann sagt, sie sind doch der Feminist. Woraufhin mein Kumpel meint: Ah ja, ich wusste schon immer, dass mit dir was nicht stimmt!" 😂
Der Herr entpuppte sich als der Deutschlehrer meiner Tochter. Er war ihr Lieblingslehrer und hatte

We have a Bosch and while I don't like that I've had to fix it twice (different failures), I do like that it's pretty easy to get at the parts that needed to be replaced. 4 years later that has become my alter-ego when I have to say no to something the kids want. When I see that they’re mad at me for saying no, I now break into this, Darkwing Duck style:
I am the rain on your parade!
I am the stick in the mud!
I am [changes every time]!
I am….The Ruiner!
