She’s fading and closer this morning … I lean slowly down … cheek to cheek … in a whisper she says: “Am glad you gave me such beautiful children”.

Her three granddaughter are a blessing and a kindness for her.

She’s saying what she needs to say.

We hold hands for quite awhile.

Later all three granddaughters lay down with her in the hospital bed in the living room.

I've been thinking a lot about death lately, having lost my dad and a kid brother in the last two years.

I'm comforted by three NDE trends that seem to transcend all demographics: The brain makes the experience pleasant and comfortable, you usually are greeted by your god of choice or loved ones, and your life likely flashes before your eyes.

I hope that means my brother and my dad got to relive their life's great joys as their brain was shutting down.
