My apartment doesn't have ethernet ports and the router is in a network closet. I don't have coax ports either. I have been wondering how might I get ethernet set up. In my network closet, I don't see any ports.

For work, I'm being told I need to install a landline for when I'm on call for a few months that connects into my router. Even if I take the router out of the closet (maybe it can be a trans router), I'd need a 20ft+ cable that runs past a doorway to get it near my desk.

On the bright side, they are going to provide said cable, otherwise, I must go in person twice a week. It also helps that I wanted to move my router out of the closet anyway, to plug it into my Uninterruptible Power Supply (CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD), which just arrived and needs to be set up.

A bonus: I found was an extra $10 off for 12 months on my Wi-Fi when I logged into my Verizon account today, in case any of you haven't checked for a "loyalty" offer recently. I should be paying $35.99/mo for 300 Mbps moving forward, their cheapest option.

Speaking of #UPS, does anyone out there have advice regarding putting a #lithium #lifepo4 battery into a consumer ups?

There are 12v 10ah lithium batteries that fit / match the typical pb acid 12v 9ah typical in many consumer models, including my 1000va #cyberpower unit.

I can’t find any definitive advice on the internet…

The interface is hideous and completely un-mac-like. No Dark mode. The dock icon is old-timey round, disproportionately large, and un-hideable; and the menubar icon is bright red without a grayscale option. 🤮
