Budget instruments like this are loads better made than they were when I was a teenager and these sorts of customisations are easy to do and not prohibitively expensive. I should sign it and make it my signature model 🤣

I put Rotosound short-scale flatwound strings on it when it arrived and I hit the finish with a light scouring pad.
It’s hard to tell in the picture but in front of the bridge is still very high gloss polyurethane and to the right it’s been hit with the scouring pad. It just weathers it a little.
