Combats resolution usually consists of fictional positioning, assembling a dice pool and one, maybe two roles. „Dangerous“, fast paced and exciting, way more in line with how combats are depicted in let’s say fantasy fiction or movies. You ask yourself: How did we got used to hours long battlemap grind a la #CorporateDnD …where everything slows down…. „I move two squares and use my bonus action to….🥱“

@hachx0 if you are looking for non #CorporateDnD alternative with #dnDNA I like to recommend #ShadowdarkRPG. The game is currently hyped, but for good reasons, I think. Shadowdark merges #5e mechanisms with design principles of #OldSchoolDungeonsAndDragons iterations. The game is very accessible, which is great for introducing new players. Character creation takes only minutes. Gameplay is fast, combat is dangerous, the book provides plenty of DM Ressources

@dnddeutsch …mir sind #WotC mittlerweile so unsympathisch. Ich bin froh, dass es so viele „Drachenspielvarianten“ jenseits von #CorporateDnD gibt, die verschiedenste Geschmäcker bedienen. #pathfinder2e für Leute, dies fiddelig mögen, #osr Retroklone und #dnd Hacks für Leute wie mich. Diese Woche z.B. #shadowdarkrpg gespielt, das Freund*innen gestreamlinter 5e Mechanik und osr fangirls/Boys gleichermaßen gefallen dürfte. WotCs 5-Punkt-irgendwas-aber-nicht-6e interessiert mich Zero

@Steam_Tinkerer die Illustrationen in M4 und M5 finde ich generisch und bisweilen cringe. Ich „befürchte“, dass sich #Midgard 6 in Bezug auf das Setting und Ästhetik an diese (nachvollziehbarerweise erfolgreichen) bonbonfarbene, Anime-eske und „light hearted“ #CorporateDnD und #Pathfinder Richtung entwickeln wird. Finde, der low fantasy Regelkern von M passt eigentlich besser zu einem „erdigen“ Setting, einem pseudohistorischen „Harnworld light“ mit krosser Sword&Sorcery-Kruste (Magira!) 2/2

@theredcaps @factolvictor i got the #pathfinder2e humble bundle and read into the core rules, out of curiosity. It is way too crunchy and nitty-gritty for me (the first „o“ in Bodo stands for #osr), but I’m really-really impressed by PF‘s information design…especially when compared to #CorporateDnD (5e). I also like PF’s nuanced take on ranked proficiency Bonusses. But the overwhelming plethora of feats and what not…simply not my cup of tea 😬
