Ran a Game of #TrophyGoldRPG for my Farmer 👩‍🌾 friends tonight. Played through „Sea of Dust“, a module by Brian Binh. Great evening in good company and Trophy Gold did its magic: Running Trophy always seems to result in these „I‘d definitely watch this, if it was a movie“-moments. Usually prefer #osr games/style of play, but Trophy has become my favorite game when it comes to storygames.

Highlights:
- went to my first #rpg con ever (#LoFiCon)
- gm'ed for the first time at a table full of 'strangers' and it worked quite well
- discovered a new system I really like and delved into it way too deep 😊 (#warlock)
- could play a session #TrophyGoldRPG with you

Lowlights:
- Haven't been able to play nearly as often as hoped and RealLife™️ still is a big hindrance regarding #pnp
- my 30+ year old table group is gone for good

Gestern durfte ich unter der Leitung von @HeyeBodo erstmalig #TrophyGoldRPG spielen.

Welch ein anderes System zu allem, was ich bisher gespielt habe. Und wie cool.

Ich weiß nicht, ob ich mit der Gruppe nur besonderes Glück hatte, da das alles begeisterte Spielleiter und somit Erzähler waren, aber unsere Chars haben sich beinahe nahtlos in die Geschichte eingewebt und sich Stück für Stück weiter entwickelt (und das z.T. sehr spaßig abwärts 😁).

I definitely see myself running Josh Hittie’s incursion again. It is full of good ideas on how to make dark science Fantasy tropes gameable, BUT I would probably not use #TrophyGoldRPG again, but instead run this (super cool) module using either #CthulhuDark or #TrophyDark. 4/x

Overall „Hissing Darkness“ offered a great installment for the #TrophyGoldRPG if (!) you are into SciFi horror and only grossed out by body horror in a good way. This said, I don‘t think that this incursion is well-aligned with several central building blocs of Trophy Gold: the mechanics connected to „Gold“, „Burden“, and the character‘s individual „Drives“ are less relevant in this incursion compared to other incursions I ran 3/x

Yesterday, I visited friends at their farmhouse running the #TrophyGoldRPG incursion (that‘s how Trophy scenarios are called) „Hissing Darkness“ by Josh Hittie (2020). The incursion does something interesting by providing an alternative setting for the game, including new backgrounds, rituals, gear, etc.: Instead of being set in the dark fantasy setting of Trophy, „Hissing Darkness“ takes the PCs aboard a colony ship of far future which has been warped and by exotic energies. 1/x

@Morgunin #WorldsWithoutNumber weil Du damit vlt eine gute Brücke zw Leuten schlagen kannst, die #swordsandwizardry mochten und jenen, die gerne etwas mehr auf dem Figurenbogen stehen haben. WwN ist ein #osr Spiel, das aber Skills, eine Art Lifepath-System und Foci (quasi Feats) hat und es ist umsonst. Mit hat WwN viel Spaß gemacht. Das Spiel hält auch phantastische SL-Tools parat. Ansonsten natürlich: #TrophyGoldRPG
