10.10.2024: Das Team des Computermuseums stellt eine Z43-Anlage aus der aufgelösten Sammlung des FITG (Förderkreis Industrie und Technikgeschichte e.V.) vor. Die Z43 war der letzte von der Zuse KG entwickelte Computer, der dann von der Firma Siemens unter der Bezeichnung „Siemens 404“ vermarktet wurde. Nicht zu verwechseln mit der „Siemens 4004“ Computerfamilie, die „IBM 360“ kompatibel war. Aus heutiger Sicht ist die Z43 ein 16-Bit Minicomputer, der vergleichbar mit der „PDP 11“ Familie ist: 16 allgemeine 16-Bit-Register, Magnetkernspeicher bis 32.000 Worte. Über den Maschinenbefehlssatz ist wenig bekannt, laut Prospekt wird sie im „Freiburger Code“ programmiert, der eigentlich für die ganz anders strukturierte Z22 entwickelt worden war.
