The #Chronicler did not end with great confidence in the prospect of an ascendant House of #David.

Instead, 2 Chronicles ended with Cyrus' decree ending the exile and restoring the Judahites to their land.

In this way, 2 Chronicles allowed its hearers to continue the story of the Israelites as the people of God.

The #Chronicler narrated the exploits of #Solomon in detail. He then considered #Rehoboam through #Zedekiah.

In the Chronicler's telling, every time a king was obedient, he thrived. Whenever he turned aside, he suffered.

And yet the kings and the people ultimately persisted in idolatry and held YHWH's message and His messengers in contempt.

The Kingdom of #Judah would not persevere.

In 1 Kings 1:1-2:11, Solomon's accession to the throne after #David seemed less than certain.

The #Chronicler wanted to make sure no one was deceived: David fully intended #Solomon his son to rule after him as king.

The #Chronicler presented #David as very much concerned about the temple which would be built and the service to God it would provide.

According to the Chronicler, even though David would not live to see any of it, he would be the one primarily responsible for the way the ministration of the First Temple would be organized and executed.

Kiran Nagarkar, yet another bilingual #writer, was a great #novelist, and a #chronicler of #Mumbai. “Cuckold” is arguably his greatest #English #novel, the “Ravan and Eddie” series and “Seven Sixes are Forty Three” are great works on Mumbai.

This article on Nagarkar by Jerry Pinto (another Mumbai writer, though not in the Nagarkar class) is a good introduction to “Ravan and Eddie”.

"I am the Fibernator!"
The crowd gasped.
"I press this & all fiber optic cables turn to candy floss. You'll have to watch broadcast TV for entertainment! Bwa-ha-ha-ha!"
The crowd moaned.
"You fiend! I, The #Chronicler, will stop you!"
"What will you do? Talk me to death?"
"No. I will chronicle your life, like the time you were 6 & decided to see what your own poop tasted like."
"Ew!" retched the crowd.
"Or when you were 10 & put peanut butter on your…"
"No! Don't say it! I give up!"

“I’m sure you’ll make a better #chronicler of Shiny Suit’s misdeeds than I will,” said Jin.
“Perhaps, but focus is on the bottom line, the loss of talent & income,” said Mia.
“I wish I’d know you then.”
“I wish more understood the malignancy.”
“Yeah, it was a lonely time.” #vss365

The finished lineart of my Degenesis OC Alex aka Splint. He is a chronicler (some kind of tech- and computer freak collecting old knowledge) in a Post-Apocalyptic world. Smaller pic is him with his helmet/mask on.
