I miss Fat Mao! Their Thai iced tea is my favourite. A team of us would cross the neighborhood in a procession, carrying pitchers of tea for the office at Chinatown House.

And one final thought. I recognize that #ChinatownYVR has been discriminated against in the past in #Vancouver and I also recognize that there has been a big uptick in anti-Asian racism in #BC. And the folks fighting that housing proposal all looked like they were trying to protect their unique community. Isn't it possible to grow the community character by providing more #housing AND keeping key aspects of the community feel present like store design and street level appearance?
