I used ChatGDP to practice my Japanese output abilities. I struggled to find someone to practice with and who is available at the times I am. ChatGDP turns out to be excellent for this. It can give you example conversations and can also practice them with you. If you are a self-learner this is a game changer since you can now do all the role play exercises in the textbook together with it.You can also ask it to explain the words to you and also the reading.
It will never substitute a human tutor though - I would see it as a complement.
