𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟬 — 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘆 (𝗪𝗦𝗣𝗗)
Today, we join the global call to change the narrative on suicide. Suicide is preventable. Every conversation matters. Speak with kindness. Listen without judgement. If someone seems withdrawn, ask directly, stay with them, and help them find professional support. If you’re struggling, reach out — you are not alone.
𝗜𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽:
If you are in immediate danger, call your local emergency number now.
Talk to a trusted person, a healthcare professional, or visit your nearest pharmacy for information on local resources. #SCABPharmacy staff are ready to help with information and referral.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽:
Ask, listen, and take action — asking about suicide won’t plant the idea, it can save a life.
Learn the warning signs: severe mood changes, withdrawal, hopelessness, talking about death or feeling like a burden.
Remove access to means when someone is at risk.
Encourage professional care and follow-up support.
Share reliable information to reduce stigma and support someone seeking help.
𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲:
Use language that reduces stigma: say “died by suicide” rather than sensational phrases.
Promote open, compassionate conversations about mental health.
Support policies that improve access to mental health care and crisis services.
