Trump says the UK's 2 aircraft carriers are 'toys'. The #RoyalNavy is squawking. So are the navy's fans, e.g. #Torygraph.

But #Trump is mostly right. The QEII carriers have had 3 big problems: they dont work, have no planes, and no escorts.

Now they sometimes work, have a few planes, and rely on American #CarrierBattleGroups. But it's all half-arsed.

These carriers are not really a military project. They are #pork, built by #GordonBrown to create jobs in Scotland, and enthuse #flagshaggers.
