Trump says the UK's 2 aircraft carriers are 'toys'. The #RoyalNavy is squawking. So are the navy's fans, e.g. #Torygraph.

But #Trump is mostly right. The QEII carriers have had 3 big problems: they don't work, have no planes, and no escorts.

Now they sometimes work, have a few planes, and rely on American #CarrierBattleGroups. But it's all half-arsed.

These carriers are not really a military project. They are #pork, built by #GordonBrown to create jobs in Scotland, and enthuse #flagshaggers.

@2legged Only the British government could build aircraft carriers without aircraft or escort. They were told at the time of the stupidity but still scrapped the only planes they had capable of flying off of them.

@SamanthaJaneSmith I'd much prefer that the billions were spent on something useful like homes or buses.

But since the #UKgov insisted on spending the cash on masturbation aids for ammosexuals, they deserve some praise for making the ships less dangerous but making them unusable.

Aircraft carriers are pointless for defence. They exist only for attack. So one way of seeing this is that #GordonBrown sabotaged an invasion tool. Thanks, Gordon!

But in the bigger picture, it's genius. With no planes, an aircraft carrier can do no damage. No more bombing the hell out of brown people
