The Roman Catholic church condemned John Wycliffe and his writings in the year 1428 AD.
The Roman Catholic Church condemned the man responsible for producing the first complete English Bible. They even went to his grave, dug up his dead body, and burned it.
At the Council of Constance in 1415, the #Catholic leaders banned all of John Wycliffe's writings and ordered they also be burned. There were no English Bibles approved at that time by the Roman Catholic church. Fragments of the Bible existed in English, but they did not approve any of it.
