The reason why I didn't choose the "we'll call you back when you get to the front of the line" option is because every active call they have in their system at any given time costs them a small amount of money, so the more people choose to hold, the more incentive they have to reduce their hold times. If I have to wait to speak to a human being, then I'm going to make them pay for every second of it.
But they're doing their best to make it painful.
